The One Take Sessions dates available for September and October have been pretty much booked out, the only available slot (up for grabs at the time of writing) is a single spot for solo / band on Thursday October 23rd. Our December One Take Sessions is by invitation only, though if you would like to get your name in the hat then please contact us on sessions@kilkennymusic.com
Our last remaining dates to book for the year are in November. If you’re touring, have joined us already or would like to play the ‘Sessions before the booking closes completely on 2008 then please, again, email us to sessions@kilkennymusic.com.
Looking forward to seeing more of you for another night of the One Take Sessions this coming May 29th.

The One Take Sessions returns for the next in the 2008 series of gigs, tomorrow night in Cleere’s Theatre, Kilkenny (Thursday May 8th).
On the bill we’ve got
- ReClaim
- Ginosko
- Shane Barry
- Nick Day
Doors open at 9:15pm and the first act takes to the stage as always at 9:30pm. The One Take Sessions series is now booked out until October 2nd of this year, with two slots available for each of October 2nd and 23rd and four slots available for the second last ‘Sessions of the year in November.

There’s no cover charge (again, as always) tomorrow night so why not come down and kick off your weekend with four more great independent Irish acts.

The 20th One Take Sessions took place last night where we had the delight of seeing Cian O’Sullivan, Rob O’Connor and Bright Light Fiasco return to the ‘Sessions stage once more (following appearances about 12 months ago), while Rich Wyman wowed the audience with a virtuoso performance on piano all while nursing a sore throat (helpfully through some hot whiskey remedies).
Needless to say, the recordings from last night’s sessions should make for some fantastic listening.
KCLR 96FM’s Jenny Nolan was there for the night and managed to grab Rich and the Bright Light Fiasco lads for some interviews and we’ll be handing some tracks over to the station (hopefully) for inclusion in an upcoming Culture Club slot.
Keep an eye out on DownloadMusic.ie too for the release of Bright Light Fiasco’s new single ‘A New Way Of Living’, hitting the web and shops from next week.
The Culture Club airs on KCLR 96fm (and via the web) every Tuesday night between 8 and 9pm.

As always, the ‘Sessions take place in Cleere’s Theatre on Parliament Street, Kilkenny. There is no cover charge / admission fee for the One Take Sessions. First act takes to the stage at 9:30pm and as the evening is seated, we’re urging those attending to arrive in time to grab a table and seat for yourself.
This week’s ‘Sessions will be recorded live for inclusion in Sound System Podcast 51, recording next week. This week’s show (airing Wednesday night) records this coming Wednesday evening. If you’ve got content to add to the show, drop a line to studio B by emailing podcast@kilkennymusic.com.

The One Take Sessions sees the return of two previous guests and two new ones between July and August this year.
Three acts have been announced for the July 31st date (leaving just one slot free) as West Of Eden return to Kilkenny following a great performance last Autumn. They will be joined on the night by Walkperson and El Scamperino, both newcomers to the One Take Sessions.
Meanwhile, Jester have announced they will return to the One Take Sessions on Thursday August 21st following their 8-track performance at the March 6th ‘Sessions (last act on the night).
We’re just shy of ten days short of the next date with Cian O’Sullivan, Rob O’Connor, Rich Wyman and Bright Light Fiasco taking to the stage in Cleere’s on Thursday April 17th for the 20th night of the One Take Sessions. It has a special ring to it, so why not come down and enjoy the night!

Singer-songwriter Mike Day (Wexford) will be joining us for the One Take Sessions on Thursday May 8th, completing the lineup alongside Ginosko, Shane Barry and Dublin’s ReClaim.
That means we’ve a full house up to July 31st. Here’s looking forward to the start of the summer sessions

The April ‘Sessions are full again with local performer Cian O’Sullivan added to the list. Cian had performed last year as part of young Kilkenny band ‘Mantra’ who have since parted ways.
The lineup for April 17th also includes Acrojunk’s Rob O’Connor, Rich Wyman and Bright Light Fiasco.
If anyone is interested in joining the ‘Sessions in August there are now just two slots remaining.

Just this evening we’ve received word that Deaf Animal Orchestra will be joining the Waterford leg of the 2FM 2moro 2our on April 17th. As such, they won’t be making it to the One Take Sessions on April 17th (due to appear alongside Rob O’Connor, Rich Wyman and Bright Light Fiasco).
We’ve got an opening for a solo act / duet if anyone is interested? There’s no slots available outside of this one until the end of July and into August so if you would like to join us for the April One Take Sessions, get in touch immediately by emailing sessions@kilkennymusic.com. Include a bio and a link to your MySpace. The slot is first come, first served!

Doors open in Cleere’s Theatre tonight shortly after 9pm with the first act taking to the stage at 9:30pm. Seating is limited at the One Take Sessions so you’re advised to arrive prior to 9:30pm to grab yourself a chair and table. Running order as always will be decided on the night.
If you’re interested in booking a slot at the One Take Sessions, we have availability from July 31st onwards, slots given on a first come-first served basis so don’t miss out.
