The April ‘Sessions are full again with local performer Cian O’Sullivan added to the list. Cian had performed last year as part of young Kilkenny band ‘Mantra’ who have since parted ways.
The lineup for April 17th also includes Acrojunk’s Rob O’Connor, Rich Wyman and Bright Light Fiasco.
If anyone is interested in joining the ‘Sessions in August there are now just two slots remaining.
Just this evening we’ve received word that Deaf Animal Orchestra will be joining the Waterford leg of the 2FM 2moro 2our on April 17th. As such, they won’t be making it to the One Take Sessions on April 17th (due to appear alongside Rob O’Connor, Rich Wyman and Bright Light Fiasco).
We’ve got an opening for a solo act / duet if anyone is interested? There’s no slots available outside of this one until the end of July and into August so if you would like to join us for the April One Take Sessions, get in touch immediately by emailing sessions@kilkennymusic.com. Include a bio and a link to your MySpace. The slot is first come, first served!
We’re back with the One Take Sessions again tonight, this week’s acts include
Doors open in Cleere’s Theatre tonight shortly after 9pm with the first act taking to the stage at 9:30pm. Seating is limited at the One Take Sessions so you’re advised to arrive prior to 9:30pm to grab yourself a chair and table. Running order as always will be decided on the night.
If you’re interested in booking a slot at the One Take Sessions, we have availability from July 31st onwards, slots given on a first come-first served basis so don’t miss out.
We’ve opened up one space on Thursday May 8th as we’re shuffling around Joe Cleere’s first appearance at the One Take Sessions. Booking remains on first-come first-served basis for May 8th as we’ve no shortlist in place for that date.

The 18th One Take Sessions takes place tonight in Cleere’s Theatre, Kilkenny.
Taking to the stage will be Kevin McNamara, Stace Gill, Jill Deering and Jester.
First act to the stage is 9:30pm with gig goers urged to arrive on or before 9:30pm so not to miss out. The One Take Sessions is a fully seated event and coverage will be available on next week’s Sound System Podcast with KilkennyMusic.com.
Two more acts have been announced for the 2008 One Take Sessions with Joe Cleere and ReClaim set to make an appearance on Thursday May 8th.
ReClaim played a fantastic set at the 2007 appearance, their first at the ‘Sessions and they’ll make a welcome return for the first of the summer nights. Carlow-based Joe Cleere will make his One Take Sessions debut on May 8th and has also been pencilled in for a return slot later in the year. Having gigged anywhere and everywhere between Ireland and Slovakia, Joe was the winner of RTE 2FM’s Song Contest in 2006 and we’re already looking forward to the first of his two 2008 performances at the One Take Sessions.
The One Take Sessions for March 6th and 27th, April 17th and May 29th are all fully booked.
Rich Wyman has been added to the April 17th bill in Cleere’s Theatre, Kilkenny while ReClaim have also been added to the May 8th bill.
Dubliners ReClaim will be making their second appearance at the One Take Sessions while America’s Rich Wyman will be making a One Take Sessions debut.
The March 6th One Take Sessions have been booked out, with just one slot remaining also for March 27th.
The booking form has now been updated completely, the new menu for dates giving you an indication as to how many slots are left available on any given date.
The new One Take Sessions website launches this week and tonight, you can tune into KCLR 96FM (or here on the web) to hear Ken chat about the ‘Sessions.
The booking form currently online for One Take Sessions dates has been updated to reflect the 2008 calendar. We are currently taking bookings for the entire year. Slots are strictly limited to 4 acts per night and must be booked in advance.

Here’s the dates for the One Take Sessions series for 2008. If you would like to book a space at any of the ‘Sessions up to December, please email sessions@kilkennymusic.com with your details and a link to your MySpace. The One Take Sessions is an alternative acoustic night, open to solo acts and bands, taking place every third Thursday in Cleere’s Theatre, Kilkenny. There is a limit of four acts per night for 2008.
